Golborne Allotment Association

Golborne allotments are located on the grounds of Golborne Parkside Sports & Community Club, Rivington Avenue, Golborne. There are around 12 plots and the site covers just less than one acre of land that sits between the rugby pitch and the Bowling  Green.

The allotments are used by local people and community groups to grow their own produce and experience all the physical, mental and social benefits that can be gained from working a plot. The allotment has an Association chaired by Mr Ray Brooke who has been a plot holder there for over 16 years.

Specific objectives of the Association are to increase the awareness of the allotment, improve access to it, and assist people in gaining new skills and knowledge about growing, nurturing and cultivating fruit, vegetables and flowers.

One of the aims of the Association is to help the local community by showing people how to become active whilst growing their own healthy food in a friendly social environment.
