Who we are

Golborne Parkside Sports & Community Club, Hugo Johnson Playing Fields, Rivington Avenue, Golborne, Warrington WA3 3HG. The club is the data controller for anything collected here. If you want to ask about your information, contact us using the details on our contact page.

What we collect, and why

Booking and venue enquiries

When you ask about hiring a room we collect your name, your phone number and email address, the date and time you want, the type of event, guest numbers and anything else you tell us. We use it to answer you and to hold the room. It is kept while the booking is live and for our own records afterwards, so we know who has used the club.

The lawful basis is that we are taking steps at your request to enter into an agreement with you.

Team and general enquiries

When you contact us about joining a team or anything else, we collect what you put in the form so we can reply. It goes to the club, and where it is about a particular team, to that team’s contact.

The newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We also record the date you confirmed and a one-way scrambled version of your internet address — not the address itself — so we can show that consent was given if anyone ever asks.

Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by asking us. We keep the record of your subscription until you unsubscribe.

Who else sees it

Nobody, beyond what it takes to run the website and send the emails. We do not sell your information, we do not swap it, and we do not pass it to sponsors or partners.

The website and the club’s email are hosted by Hostinger, who store the data on our behalf. That is the only third party involved.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies and does not track you around the internet. WordPress may set a cookie if you log in to manage the site, which only applies to club volunteers.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to what we are doing with it. Ask through the contact page and we will deal with it within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

The club runs teams for children from four years old upwards. We do not knowingly collect information about a child through this website — enquiries about junior teams should come from a parent or guardian, and anything to do with registering a young player is handled off the website by the team’s coach.

Changes

If we change how we use your information we will update this page.
