Crown green bowls
The bowling section
Parkside has its own crown green beside the clubhouse, with Roger’s Retreat looking out over it. The section plays through the season and the green is one of the reasons this place is busy on a weekday afternoon as well as a Sunday morning.
New bowlers are welcome whether you have played for forty years or never picked a bowl up. Come down, have a look, and someone will put you right.

The allotments
The allotments have been part of Parkside from the beginning. Onions, dahlias, a polytunnel and a lot of tea — it is a section of the club in its own right, and for plenty of members it is the reason they are here.
Plots come up from time to time. If you want your name down, get in touch and we will let you know where the list stands.
